blogroll

I follow lots and lots of blogs for lots and lots of different reasons.  If you're looking for good blogs to check out, I'd start with some of these.  Here's what I read, loosely categorized.

Real Life

  • Here for the Wrong Reasons  My blog for things that are not on my 101 Things list.
  • Slivken 365 My partner, David, is trying to blog our life one day and one photo at a time.
  • My Galician Garden My dear friend, Coco, is restoring an old brick farmhouse in Galicia, and blogging her adventures.
  • Grammar Piano  Lee Houck is a good friend of mine, and a talented writer.  You should buy his book, and follow his blog.
  • Nanny Goats in Panties  Margaret Andrews is a writer, and this is her humor blog.  She helped me with my project by having tea with me at the Plaza.
  • NineDaves Dave blogs about nine pop-culture topics.  Because he's NineDaves, that's why.
  • Hyperlexicon I've been friends with Christa since college.  She's a terrific writer.  Her blog about raising a son with Hyperlexia is way better and much more focused than your average "mommy blog."
  • Books and Chocolate Karen is a voracious reader, and her blog is completely worthwhile.  She's also a college friend, and I don't see her nearly often enough, so following her blog is a terrific thing for me.
  • Jazz@Rochester My friend Greg has a terrific blog about Jazz, particularly focused on what's going on in Rochester.  Check it out!
  • web...blah...log Stephanie D'Abruzzo is a dear friend of mine from college.  I love her.  I love her blog.
  • My Two Cents, FWIW.  Tracy and I went to High School together, and he's started a blog!  Check it out.
If you're a real-life friend of mine, and you've got a blog that I'm not following, please let me know so that I can change that.

Other Like-Minded Blogs

  • 101 Things in 1001 Days...and a blog to keep track of them.  My good friend, John, decided to make his own 101 Things list, and to blog it, as well.  You should follow his exploits.  I think his list is really terrific.
  • The Experience Junkie  A blog that advocates building your whole life around getting the most out of life and the world around you.
  • 101 Things to Do Before You Die.  The time frame is longer, and the list is more challenging, but she's gonna do them, and blog it along the way!
  • 43 Things A sort of social networking site built around making lists of things people want to do.  Not as fun as doing 101 Things in 1001 Days, but if you're less ambitious and groove on social networking, you might be into it.
  • Get Rich Slowly Mostly, this is a personal finance kinda blog, but the author did a 101 Things list a few years back, and the point of the blog--to get the most out of life, and to be thrifty while doing so--is worthwhile.
  • The List Queen  Checkin' it off...one day at a time.
  • an unfinished person  A personal blog about one person's growth that's given me great ideas for a couple of things on my own list.  And it's got a sense of humor, so don't worry that it's all twinkle ding-dong about personal development.

If you're blogging a 101 Things in 1001 Days project, and you'd like to trade links, please let me know.  I'd love to share ideas and compare notes.

  • Brooklyn Breeder.Whine, Womyn and Sing-Alongs.
  • Ditmas Park Blog  A blog about my neighboring neighborhood.
  • Kensington Prospect  A blog about my real neighborhood.
  • Fucked in Park Slope  A terrific blog with lots of snark about the snark-worthiest neighborhood in the BK.
  • The Farm on Adderley Blog I can be found eating here at least once per week.  Maybe twice a week.  Maybe four times a week.  Yeah.  It's that good
  • Reclaimed Home Low impact housing and renovation options for thrifty New Yorkers.
Gay
Food

  • Momma Mia, Mea Culpa "Vodka is great, but this isn't half bad."

More to be added, as I get the time to add them (read: when I'm in an airport with a wi-fi connection)
