to luxembourg, or not to luxembourg

In the coming weeks, I have not one, but two (count them: 1, 2) work-related trips to Brussels.  I don't have my schedule of meetings, but it's entirely possible that I might have time to sneak away for a few hours to do list-things.  I'm pretty sure I know where the beer museum is, which would count toward the museum item.  And I may be able to watch movies on the plane.  But I just sort of had this HBS pop into my head that one of the few remaining countries in Western Europe that I've never visited is just a three-hour train ride from Brussels.  So, the question I'm asking myself is, should my thirty-fourth country be The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg?

Actually, I'm asking myself a number of other questions.  Specifically:
  • What is a Duchy?
  • Will I be expected to pass it on the left-hand side?
  • What is there to see and do in Luxembourg?
  • According to Wikipedia, Luxembourg is so small that they don't have "states," they have "Administrative Districts," one of which is called "Grevenmacher."  What the hell is a Grevenmacher, and is it painful?
  • Are people from Luxembourg called Luxemboogers?
So, here's the thing.  I know very little about Luxembourg.  (Heh, heh.  Get it?  "Little."  Heh.)  I'm not above getting on a train and going to a new country just to have a beer and walk around a bit.  But I want to make sure that if I do this that it's not just Luxembourg, but that it's the Luxembourgiest.  If any of you dear, sweet, frothy, succulent, intelligent, awful, wonderful, disgusting readers have any suggestions for whether this is a good idea and what I might want to see and do while there, I would be tremendously grateful.
